Willilam E. Paul, MD (deceased)

The MCCA-Speaker announces with deep regrets, that the world-renowned immunologist and member of the MCCA International Scientific Advisory Board, Professor William E. Paul passed away on September 19, 2015. Professor Paul was not only a distinguished immunologist but also a constant source of support for young scientist. Among many other important functions Professor Paul acted as editor of 'Fundamental Immunology', surely the most important and comprehensive textbook on immunology. In addition, he promoted immunology in Austria as a member of the aforementioned International Scientific Advisory Board of the PhD-Program Molecular, Cellular, and Clinical Allergology (MCCA) at the Medical University of Vienna as well as of the Center for Molecular Medicine, CeMM and was a recipient of the ÖGAI Clemens von Pirquet medal as well.
